OK, this is it.  I’ve determined that even the worst idea can be successful.  The Flat Earth Society (yes, Virginia, it’s real and it’s exactly what it sounds like) has 3,500 dues paying members.  They have a story (albeit a ridiculous one) and they are persistent.  The worst part is that they have a member paying $20,000 to build a rocket that will carry him up 1,800 feet where he intends to snap a photo proving the flatness of the earth. I can think of a million ways to accomplish this goal for less than $20,000. The point here is that there will always be money to fund even the dumbest ideas.  The only thing that you need to get money anymore is a story and the willingness to persist in telling it.
