The first thing that comes to mind as I talk with clients is what a business is.  It’s not suppliers, and customers, and employees, and office space, and paperwork.  That’s what a business needs.  What a business really is is a habit. The habit of making money. If you boil it down to the essentials, a business is what you do every day.  Whether it’s as an employee or an owner, we make money by what we do every day.  There are two sides the the habit coin: offense and defense

The offense side allows the business owner to identify and seize opportunities before anyone else.

The defense side is legal actions. Part of my practice involves helping people manage IRS situations. When the IRS comes calling, the best situations are those where the business owners have made good habits and are ready to answer questions without having to go back and put together their records as best they can.
