See, here it is. I told myself that I would post once a day at 5:00. I set an alarm for 5:00 and then ignored it because I was busy. Maybe that’s because I was in the middle of a project. It doesn’t matter. I’m working to create a habit for myself because I think it will be beneficial. So this post is a day late but at least it’s done.
Our business habits are the same. We need to create rhythms so that if we miss a step, we feel that something went wrong. Whether it’s advertising, financial review, inventory audits, whatever. Setting in motion business rhythms helps us to avoid having to put out fires because if we keep in step on those rhythms, we’ll be in exactly the right place with all the tools we need to make the next thing happen. If we never put the habits in place, then our days, which should be a finely choreographed ballet, will turn into a boxing match where we are struggling to survive. That’s not to say that there is not a certain amount of chaos beyond our control. With the right systems in place, at least we’ll be able to identify the chaos and have an idea of how to work through it.
