By now, some, maybe many of you, have heard that the US Supreme Court has ruled that states can collect sales tax from Amazon sellers even in states where the seller does business without a physical presence.  I have not yet read the opinion, but the door is open and it’s not a pretty sight for we who sell on Amazon. (Yes, I sell product on Amazon, too.)

While many of you have probably already considered what you’re going to do, please remember that just because you are under the “Substantial Privilege” cap, that does not preclude the old “physical presence” test. The Wayfair opinion is an additional layer of regulation, not a replacement layer.

This is not legal advice, this is my opinion about how I’m going to proceed in my own online business.
